Today in Year Three and Year Four we had a visit from 'Aethwolf the Ango-Saxon'. We enjoyed learning all about the Ango-Saxons and the Vikings. The Eco-Council along with the various School Councillors enjoyed taking part in a litter pick around Hackworth Park today. We joined Shildon Town Council and the County Durham Civic Pride team. The children received a free pair of safety gloves and used litter grabbers to collect the rubbish. We enjoyed a refreshng drink at the end and each received a packet of mini eggs as a thank you from the team. The children worked hard and collected bags of rubbish, well done everyone! ... Yesterday, Year Two had an extremely interesting visit to Durham Cathedral. The children had exceptionally good manners, asked lots of interesting questions and managed to identify many of the aspects of Durham Cathedral discussed in class. They also very much enjoyed acting out the story of St. Cuthbert.While today we have celebrated World Maths Day.
