Year 4

Class Teacher – Mr Cluskey

Hello, my name is Mr Cluskey and I thoroughly enjoy teaching at Thornhill. It is great to see how the children progress and develop new skills each day. Outside of school I enjoy watching and participating in a range of sports, including basketball and football.

To contact Mr Cluskey please email: dcluskey.teacher@thornhill.durham.sch.uk

Welcome to our Year 4 webpage.
We hope that you find the information here useful! If you require any more information, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

The following notes just outline some of the important routines that should help us all to have a smooth running year;

Reading
Please listen to your child read for 25 minutes every night and record in their planner. Reading is a skill that needs to be developed with regular practice, little and often, so your support with this is invaluable. Also please ensure that children bring their planners to school every day.

Spellings / Maths Facts
Children are given spellings and maths facts in the week to be learnt ready for a test on Monday. The spellings and maths facts will be sent home in the planner.

PE
Currently children have daily structured PE sessions. At present they do not require a school PE kit, but must wear suitable shoes everyday.
